Welcome to project 365. This writer of ghost stories, mother of two, and wife to the Professor, aka "Ghost Hunk" (for 18 years), finds inspiration everyday, even if she sometimes forgets. So for the next year, I will document these little epiphanies, whether it's a bug on the windshield or some brilliant, breathless moment in this crazy life or something in between.

Day 196

DANTE'S RED RUBBER ELEPHANT

Anyone with kids is probably familiar with Rosemary Wells' wonderful MAX books.  Our dear Danté (the uber-dog) had a problem with the average squeak toy—it was history in about 10 minutes. Nothing but shreds of latex and a lonely naked squeaker.  So we finally found this awesome alternative at Petsmart a couple of years ago, and it is still going strong.  It's his favorite toy.  Just like Max's red rubber elephant, it can end up anywhere.  Tonight, he was hiding between the couch and the little end table.  What would we do without Danté's red rubber elephant?

"Nothing but shreds of latex and a lonely naked squeaker."

Well that just sounds like an average Saturday night to me! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.)

I love your dog's name. When I first read the caption, I considered flipping through Inferno to see if I'd missed the red rubber elephant, or if this was another volume entirely, but now all is clear. ;)

LOL! Come to think of it, he is a pretty randy little pup! We chose the name because he is black and looks like a hell-hound, but he is the biggest mush. Loves to be loved! Check him out
