While there was plenty of damage in surrounding areas, we were spared by last night's fireworks. At 2:00 am, I was dragging Ghost Daughter and Ghost Son out of bed so they could hunker down with us in an interior room on the first floor in case the tornado that had been spotted should decide to take a bite out of our house. Thankfully, it passed us by. Ghost Daughter spent the rest of the night in bed with me, which meant Ghost Hunk slept on the couch and neither of us got much sleep.
But ASU awoke bright and cheerful. This photo shows the little Southern oasis just across the parking lot from my building. I parked my car, turned around, and just said, "Ahhhh..."

Scary stuff. I don't live in any sort of tornado alley, so I can't imagine that terror.
I'm glad all went well.

Thanks Alan. I grew up in the Midwest where tornadoes were common every spring. Now I have the dubious honor of living where tornado season and hurricane season hold hands and laugh at us.
